Unlocking Potential:
Practical Strategies for Businesses to Address Demographic Change
Context:
The UK population is simultaneously shrinking and ageing, a trend which is mirrored across Europe. The number of people over 65 is steadily growing, while the population of younger age groups is decreasing. This development is unprecedented in European history, and has serious implications for economic health and business. It has therefore become crucial for companies, politicians and the broader society to radically rethink traditional ways of attracting, retaining and leveraging the skills of their employees. Companies that lead the way in working with policy makers and communities to tackle demographic change can gain a competitive edge.
The CSR Europe led Collaborative Venture ‘Using Potential – Jointly Tackling Demographic Change’ is running a series of workshops across Europe to discuss future demographic trends, issues and solutions, including how companies can better use the potential of women, older and younger workers.
In association with BITC and CSR Europe, Vodafone Group and Hitachi Europe invite you to an interactive workshop to consider the future impact of demographic change in the UK and what tangible actions business can take. A series of speakers will share expert perspectives on the issues and the challenges to be addressed over the next 5- 10 years. This will be followed by facilitated break-out sessions on several key challenges for business, sharing practical insights and strategies to address them.
The event will provide participants a great opportunity to collaborate and share information with peers and experts. Speakers and facilitators include:
- Rachel Buchanan, AGE Platform
- Helen Wells, Business in the Community
- Joel Roxburgh, Vodafone
- Sarah Dekkie, CSR Europe
- Julika Erfurt, Accenture
- Mark Purdy, Accenture
HITACHI look forward to welcoming you and working with you on this significant topic!
