Winning for Women at AstraZeneca
Joint winner of the Female FTSE Award 2007
"Diversity and talent management are included in our Senior Executive Team objectives and we have a set of minimum standards that support global alignment in the integration of diversity into our HR processes which include staffing, performance review, learning and development and reward. The introduction of objective and evidence based approaches to reviewing the performance and potential of individuals has brought clarity and transparency to the identification of high potential talent within the company and this means a real push for equality and fairness.
Our 2006 global employee survey showed that overall 63% of our staff believe that management supports equal opportunity for all employees and 69% of women and 70% men said they had not encountered any discrimination or bias towards themselves or others in AZ. We also do an annual survey of approx 30% of our talent pool and the last one showed that 81% said they were happy with their career prospects in AstraZeneca."
